Since getting the gig as a solo guitarist for a major cruise line, this was my first foray off the ship to explore a port. Zeebrugge Belgium is a seaside village on the north coast. Since I didn’t know quite what to expect, my friend Rosy showed me the ropes. (She was also a singer on the ship). We grabbed the free shuttle from the ship to the town center. I must say, a very nice, luxury shuttle bus. Walking into the quaint, cobble stone streets, my first impression was being thoroughly charmed by the cafes and shops, including this food stand selling “American” snacks of ruezehamburgers and belegde broodjes, haha.
Walking to the edge of town, we reached the seaside. It was a bit cool and windy, so I’ll have to make a plan to return in the future to explore more of Belgium and sample a beer and their famous chocolates!
